What’s It all About?

The New Forest is the ideal backdrop for an event which is successfully simple! This unique and varied environment is the location for a fun packed day which has been designed for lower end budgets

One of our basic childhood instincts is to explore. The Canoe & Cycle Safari will take you back to your earliest nostalgic memories as you discover the unknown. The sunlit forest is the perfect place to experience an adventure involving off road cycling through leafy dells and barren wind torn terrain.

Just like the ancient American Indians, guests will canoe down the breathtaking Beaulieu River in traditional open top canoes. Here they will explore hidden backwaters and shaded creeks. (This element of the event is open to all levels of canoeist including beginners with absolutely no experience.)

Guests can admire the stunning New Forest as they pedal along roads protected by a 40 mph speed limit. The main aim of this orienteering style challenge is to navigate to numerous strategic locations using clues, maps and general knowledge. Teams must use the digital cameras provided to produce photographic evidence of their completed tasks.

Suggested Itinerary

09.00 Guests arrive at Monty’s in Beaulieu. Tea, coffee and Danish pastries will be served as guests register.

09.15 The event manager will give a full safety and event briefing. Team packs and Henri Lloyd waterproof jackets will be issued.

09.30 Guests will be shown to their mountain bikes and canoes, and will then navigate to their first challenge. The group will be divided. Half will tackle the canoeing as the others begin the mountain bike challenge. The second group will then do the opposite.

12.45 Guests unite for lunch. A two-course pub lunch will be served with soft drinks.

13.45 The challenge will continue as guests exchange activities.

16.45 Activities come to an end and guests will return to Monty’s for the end of day prize giving. . Joke prizes will be awarded for any exceptional individual “contributions” and finally the winning team is announced and the grand prize giving takes place.

Guests depart at leisure.
