What’s It all About?

A Night at the Races is a premium quality event, presented to the very highest standard. Lively, outgoing staff and our consistent attention to detail ensure that our presentation of this popular entertainment is second to none, keeping the emphasis on fun and fortune!

Using only quality English horse races re-edited with full commentary, A Night at the Races features an impressive set which provides impact and atmosphere to any room. Fun Money and race cards are issued equally to guests then, following a brief welcome and explanation, our lively Compère will introduce each of the races, giving the odds and form tips on each of the runners. A preview of the horses in the next race is shown on the screen as guests begin placing their bets.

We have up to four ‘on-course’ Bookmakers (including ‘Honest Al’ and ‘George Shifty’) each with their own Bookies’ stand and authentic betting tickets. The Bookmaker writes the odds for each horse on their chalkboard prior to each race and guests then bet on their chosen runner/s. A betting ticket is issued and the ‘clerk’ records the details of the wager. A Tote Betting Shop, with the ‘Jockey Girls’ in jodhpurs and silks, may be operated as well as or instead of the bookmakers. At the end of each race the payouts are announced for 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

Our standard 6ft screen is available for groups of up to 50 people. For larger crowds the races are normally projected onto a giant 10ft screen. In addition, or as an alternative, TV monitors can be positioned around the room and an impressive feature is to show pre-race betting information live on the screens. Race Cards feature the clients’ Company name and the race names can be personalised. We are also able to incorporate Company logo’s on Fun Money, Race Cards and on-screen graphics.

After the final race Fun Money is totalled to determine winners, or may be used to bid in an exciting Auction of prizes.
