Team Building Events

There are two ways to approach group events – that’s by team building and team bonding. Our competition regularly confuse the two terms, offering team building activities which rarely provide lasting results. Team building isn’t about strengthening relationships, although it’s still a worthwhile pursuit, that’s team bonding.

Team bonding can be effective as a way of welcoming new recruits to an established team, or when a specific endeavour requires a new team. By completing tough challenges such as our Land & Sea Challenge or a Sailing Regatta, groups will generally get to know each other quickly and easily, thereby returning to the work place refreshed and ready for new challenges.

Team building requires a more scientific approach. By setting tasks we can establish and assess the individuals’ strengths and weaknesses within the group. From this vantage point we can design relevant activities which will work on the weak points and continue to develop the strengths. Teams become empowered by understanding their own development and the reasoning behind their tasks. To see how well the event has met the groups’ needs, a full post assessment is issued including guidance and advice for ongoing improvement.
