Celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month of the Chinese calendar, dragon boat racing is one of the most important Chinese traditions. Races involve teams of up to 10 paddlers in one of our four 32 foot boats, plus a drummer and helm, paddling frantically to beat the other teams down the course. The drums, shouting and colourful boats make it an impressive and exciting sport to watch and to compete in.
